I Already Have A Custom Domain (With Video)

As a paid subscriber, you have the opportunity to link a custom domain to your TurnCage account. If you already own a domain and wish to connect it to your site, this article will guide you through the process of linking your custom domain from your domain name provider to your website. This involves managing your DNS settings, which stands for Domain Name System. If this is outside your comfort zone we recommend contact your Domain Name pProvider directly and allowing them to make the changes for you.

How to Connect Your Custom Domain

Follow these steps to add your custom domain. To watch a video on the process, tap HERE.


You can add your custom domain when you are logged in to your account.

  1. From the TurnCage Dashboard, tap the Settings icon on the left side.
  2. Select Domain from the menu.


  1. Enter your custom domain name (example: samplefamilylaw.com)
  2. Tap the Next button.

  1. Identify your domain host at the bottom of the page OR Google the directions for your specific domain host if not listed.
  2. Use the information provided to change your DNS A records for @ and www.

Note: If you need assistance contact your Domain Name provider support and have them change your DNS for you by providing the information in Step. 6


Alert You should have 1 A record for @ and 1 A record for www, remove any additional A records.

  1. After you update the DNS you must return to the TurnCage Custom Domain page and tap the ACTIVATE button on the top right of your dashboard.



GoDaddy A Record Directions

Editing your A record in a GoDaddy account.

1. Sign in to your GoDaddy account. <https://sso.godaddy.com>

Domain Portfolio. 

2. Select Domain Edit Options next to your domain and then select Edit DNS. You may need to scroll down to see the Edit DNS option.

3. Select Edit next to the A record record you're editing.

4. Edit the details for your A record:

- Value: The IP address for your A record. Type the IP Address number from the blue bar above.

- TTL: How long the server should cache information. The default setting is 1 hour.

5. Select Save to complete your changes.

6. Return to your TurnCage website.

7. Tap Activate.

Cloudflare A Record Directions

Editing your A record in a Cloudflare account. <https://dash.cloudflare.com/login>

1. Sign in to your Cloudflare account. 

2. Go to the DNS app of your Cloudflare dashboard. 

3. Click the domain in question.

4. On this page, you will see a list of the DNS records for your domain. This page is where you edit them.

5. You can click the edit button to the right of any record to change it.

6. Type the IP Address number from the blue bar above.

7. Then click ‘save’ when you’re done.

8. Return to your TurnCage website.

9. Tap Activate.

BlueHost A Record Directions

Editing your A record in a BlueHost account

1. Sign in to your BlueHost account. <https://my.bluehost.com/cgi-bin/cplogin>

2. Follow the directions for your service Bluerock or Legacy.


BLUE ROCK 

3. Under DNS Manager, scroll down and find the record you wish to modify.

4. From the right side of the record, click the ⋮ (ellipses) icon, then click Edit from the menu that pops up. 

5. Type the IP address number from the blue bar above.

6. Click the Save button.

7. Return to your TurnCage website.

8. Tap Activate.


LEGACY

3. Under Zone File Records, find the record you wish to modify.

4. Click the Edit button.

5. Type the IP Address number from the blue bar above.

6. Click Save in the action column.

7. Return to your TurnCage website.

8. Tap Activate.

1. Sign in to your Register.com account. <https://www.register.com/my-account/login>

2. Select the domain that you want to change.

3. Type the IP Address number from the blue bar above.

4. Click Continue.

5. Confirm that the altered resource record is now visible.

6. Return to your TurnCage website.

7. Tap Activate.

Editing your A record in a HostGator account.

1. Sign in to your HostGator account. <https://portal.hostgator.com/login>

2. Go to the cPanel tab on the dashboard. 

3. Type the domain you’re going to use.

4. Click the +A Record button in the Zone Editor section.

5. Type the IP Address number from the blue bar above.

6. Then  Click the +A Record or Add Record button to save.

7. Return to your TurnCage website.

8. Tap Activate.

1. Sign in to your NameCheap account in the header. <https://www.namecheap.com/>

2. Select Domain List from the left sidebar.

3. Click on the Manage button next to your domain.

4. Navigate to the Advanced DNS tab at the top of the page.

5. Find the Host records section and click on the Add New Record button

6. Type the IP address number from the blue bar above.

7. Once all details are inserted, save them using the Save changes green icon.

8. Return to your TurnCage website.

9. Tap Activate.

1. Sign in to your Ionos account. <https://login.ionos.com/login>

2. Go to the Domains > DNS section of the Control Panel 

3. Next to the desired A record, click on the Gear SYMBOL under Actions

4. Select Edit Record.

5. Type the IP address number from the blue bar above.

6. Click SAVE.

7. Confirm that the altered resource record is now visible.

8. Return to your TurnCage website.

9. Tap Activate.
